Overview
Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is seeking a creative and passionate Sculpture Lead Instructor to introduce young artists to the exciting world of 3D art. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with children and helping them transform their imagination into tangible works of art through hands-on projects.
In this role, you’ll guide students in exploring sculptural techniques using a variety of materials from clay and recycled objects to wire and mixed media, while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and artistic confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and teach sculpture lessons tailored to TK-2 & 3-5 students, focusing on essential 3D art skills such as modeling, carving, shaping, and assembling.
Demonstrate techniques clearly and provide one-on-one support to help students develop craftsmanship and creativity.
Encourage exploration by introducing diverse materials, styles, and cultural art forms that inspire expression and innovation.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom environment that encourages artistic freedom and collaboration.
Model safe and responsible use of tools, art supplies, and materials appropriate for each age group.
Collaborate with program coordinators and school staff to ensure smooth class operations, adequate materials, and consistent communication.
Provide feedback and encouragement that helps students gain confidence in their creative process.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in sculpture, ceramics, or other 3D visual arts disciplines.
Experience teaching or mentoring youth in an art or enrichment setting.
Effective communication and classroom management skills.
Creative, adaptable, and patient teaching approach that supports a range of skill levels.
Reliable, organized, and committed to student safety and consistent program delivery.
Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check (Live Scan).
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Fine Arts, Education, or related field preferred.
