Overview
We are seeking a passionate and creative Creative Clay & Model Art Instructor to guide students in exploring 3D art through sculpting, modeling, and hands-on design. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children and helping them express imagination through texture, shape, and form. Students will learn how to transform simple materials into creative clay figures, miniature models, and abstract sculptures, gaining confidence and joy in the creative process.
Duties
Plan and Teach Engaging Lessons: Lead weekly sessions introducing basic modeling and clay techniques suitable for K–8 students.
Encourage Exploration: Support students as they experiment with materials like clay, paper, wire, and recycled items to design unique 3D artworks.
Demonstrate and Guide: Provide step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on assistance to build both skills and creativity.
Maintain a Positive Environment: Create a welcoming, organized, and inclusive classroom that encourages curiosity and respect.
Collaborate with Site Staff: Communicate with program coordinators and school personnel to ensure a successful program flow and proper material use.
Experience
Background in clay art, ceramics, sculpture, or 3D design. (Required)
Experience teaching or mentoring youth in a classroom or enrichment setting preferred. (Preferred)
Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children of varying skill levels. (Preferred)
Dependable, organized, and able to maintain safety in a hands-on art environment. (Preferred)
Must pass a background check prior to hire. (Required)
Schedule: Program will start Mid January (Tuesdays)
