Overview
Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Gardening Instructor to support hands-on gardening lessons for young learners.
Beginning in Spring 2026, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, being outdoors, and fostering curiosity about nature. You’ll assist the Lead Instructor in guiding K–3 students as they explore planting, growing, and caring for a school garden, helping them develop patience, teamwork, and a sense of environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Instructor in teaching daily gardening lessons and outdoor activities.
Support students as they plant seeds, care for garden beds, and explore ecosystems.
Help with classroom setup, material preparation, and cleanup before and after each lesson.
Encourage curiosity, teamwork, and respect for nature in a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Provide individual support to students who need extra guidance during activities.
Ensure that all materials and tools are handled safely and appropriately.
Communicate any attendance updates, classroom needs, or supply shortages to the Lead Instructor or Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in a school, camp, or enrichment environment.
Interest or background in gardening, environmental education, or sustainability.
Reliable, proactive, and comfortable assisting with hands-on learning activities.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and encouraging attitude.
Dependable and organized, with a commitment to student safety and engagement.
Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check (Live Scan).
High school diploma required; college coursework in Education, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
Part-Time | Contract | 10-14 Hours per Week
