Overview
Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and tech-savvy Coding and Robotics Instructor to lead exciting, hands-on learning experiences for elementary students during our Winter Camp.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about technology, problem-solving, and inspiring young learners to explore how coding and robotics come together. You’ll introduce students to beginner-friendly programming concepts and guide them through fun challenges using interactive robotics tools.
Your mission is to make technology approachable, creative, and fun, helping students build confidence, collaboration skills, and curiosity through hands-on exploration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily STEM-focused lessons in coding and robotics for elementary-aged students.
Teach block-based coding fundamentals such as sequencing, loops, and conditionals using platforms like Scratch, Blockly, or MakeCode.
Guide students in building and programming robotics projects using tools such as LEGO Robotics, Sphero, or Dash and Dot.
Encourage creative problem-solving and teamwork through project-based challenges and group activities.
Manage classroom setup, organization of materials, laptops, and robotics kits.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student feels supported.
Adapt instruction to accommodate varying skill levels and learning styles.
Communicate daily updates and observations to program coordinators.
Support a final camp showcase or demonstration where students can present their projects.
Qualifications
Experience teaching or leading STEM, robotics, or coding activities for children (K–5).
Familiarity with block-based coding platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, or similar.
Experience using robotics systems like LEGO Robotics, Sphero, or Dash and Dot.
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Dependable, patient, and enthusiastic about making technology accessible to young learners.
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Education, Computer Science, or Engineering preferred.
Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check (Live Scan).
