Overview 

Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is looking for a creative and motivated Coding and Robotics Lead Instructor to lead exciting, hands-on STEM classes for 4th and 5th grade students.


Beginning in January 2026, this role offers the opportunity to inspire students to think critically, code creatively, and collaborate like real engineers. Using robotics and coding tools, you’ll guide students through projects that blend technology, design, and problem-solving in a fun and engaging after-school setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly after-school coding and robotics classes for 4th and 5th grade students using our structured curriculum.

  • Teach intermediate block-based programming concepts such as loops, conditionals, and basic algorithms through hands-on lessons.

  • Introduce students to robotics platforms such as LEGO Robotics, Sphero, or similar educational tools.

  • Support students as they design, build, code, and test their projects individually and in small teams.

  • Encourage creativity, teamwork, and perseverance through project-based learning.

  • Maintain an organized classroom environment and ensure proper care of all materials and robotics kits.

  • Adapt lessons to different learning styles and provide individualized guidance as needed.

  • Communicate class updates, student progress, and needs to program coordinators regularly.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or leading STEM, robotics, or coding activities for elementary or middle school students.

  • Strong understanding of block-based coding platforms (such as Scratch, Blockly, or MakeCode).

  • Experience with robotics systems such as LEGO Robotics, Sphero, or Dash and Dot.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and classroom management skills.

  • Dependable, patient, and enthusiastic about STEM education.

  • High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check (Live Scan).

Part-Time | Contract | 5-6 Hours per Week
San Francisco, CA | Additional teaching opportunities available across the Bay Area | Program begins the first week of January 2026 | Regular School hours
