Overview
We’re seeking a passionate and reliable Lead Ukulele Instructor to bring music, creativity, and joy to our middle school after-school program. In this role, you’ll guide students through the fundamentals of ukulele playing, helping them develop rhythm, confidence, and a love for making music.
You’ll lead fun, structured lessons designed for beginners, using clear demonstrations, group practice, and supportive encouragement to help students grow musically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead weekly ukulele classes following a structured, beginner-friendly curriculum.
Teach students basic chords, strumming techniques, rhythm exercises, and simple songs suitable for their level.
Foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom where every student feels confident to participate and express creativity.
Prepare and manage instruments, materials, and classroom setup before each session.
Provide clear demonstrations and individual guidance to support different learning styles.
Communicate regularly with the program coordinators about student progress, class needs, and schedule updates.
Qualifications
Experience teaching or performing music, ideally with ukulele.
Prior experience working with students or youth in schools, camps, or enrichment settings.
Excellent communication, patience, and classroom management skills.
Dependable, punctual, and enthusiastic about music education.
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Music, Education, or related field preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check (Live Scan).
