Building Ideas and Meals: Our Fall with Aurora School

Some school partnerships just feel different from the start. This fall, working with Aurora School again, we were reminded what it looks like when a school’s philosophy is felt in every classroom. Their commitment to progressive, child-led learning, where curiosity is the curriculum and each student’s path is respected, created the perfect environment for the hands-on programs we love to run. It felt less like an add-on and more like an extension of what they already do so well.

A Shared Belief in Hands-On Learning

The alignment was natural. Aurora’s mission is to engage students as thinkers and collaborators. Ours at Digital Dreamers is to create experiences where that kind of engagement happens organically. We believe in setting up a challenge, providing the tools, and letting the kids drive. Aurora’s whole approach is built to support exactly that kind of discovery, which made our collaboration seamless and deeply rewarding.

Robotics in Action: More Than Just Building

In our LEGO Robotics program, students dove into both WeDo and Mindstorms kits. The real learning, however, happened between the building steps. The room was filled with the essential sounds of deep learning: the faulty sensor, the collective groan when a code failed, and the triumphant cheer when a robot finally worked. The goal was never a perfect robot; it was nurturing the process of design, logic, and collaborative problem-solving.
