About the Program

Program Overview

The American Sign Language (ASL) Program of DDSTEAM introduces students to the rich and expressive world of visual communication. Through interactive lessons, games, and real-life practice, participants learn foundational ASL vocabulary, sentence structure, and conversational skills. This engaging program promotes inclusivity, cultural awareness, and empathy while helping students communicate and connect in new ways.


Learning Outcomes

By the end of the program, students will:

  • Build Communication Skills: Learn essential ASL signs, phrases, and finger-spelling techniques.

  • Engage in Conversation: Develop the ability to hold simple conversations using expressive body language and facial cues.
