About the Program

Program Overview

The Gardening Program of DDSTEAM encourages students to get their hands in the soil and discover the joy of growing life. Through engaging, hands-on lessons, young gardeners learn about plant biology, ecosystems, and sustainability. Students experience each stage of growth—from planting seeds to caring for and harvesting crops—while developing a sense of responsibility and teamwork. The program also fosters mindfulness and respect for the environment, helping students understand where food comes from and how nature supports everyday life. With every seed planted, students grow curiosity, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the program, students will:

  • Understand Plant Life Cycles: Learn how seeds sprout, grow, and produce food or flowers.

  • Practice Environmental Stewardship: Explore sustainable gardening and eco-friendly habits.
