Coding: Introduction to Physical Coding (Microbits)
CodingGrades K-2
Make lights and buttons respond through paired, project-based micro activities. Students explore simple visual coding and unplugged instruction games to discover how code controls a physical device.
What students do
Students explore how code controls physical devices through guided projects using micro and Microsoft MakeCode. Lessons introduce light displays, buttons, and simple inputs and outputs, beginning with icon-based sequencing activities before supported work with MakeCode’s visual blocks. Students practice paired programming, predicting responses, and testing instructions as they connect on-screen code with real-world actions.
