What our instructors say
Days like this make me imagine if I didn't want to be an engineer I would totally love to be a teacher.
I loved being able to teach the kids!! Also to have this opportunity was amazing, thank you all so much!! If there are any future opportunities, I would love to continue to be apart of the team if possible.

Certifications and Clearances
We hold ourselves to the standards schools and families expect. Every instructor is background cleared and trained before working with students, and our programs meet the requirements of every site we staff.
How hiring works
Four steps from application to your first session.
- 1
Apply
Choose a role from the board, or send a general application telling us what you can teach.
- 2
Interview
A structured conversation about your experience with students, your subject depth, and your availability.
- 3
References and clearance
Reference checks, then Live Scan and TB clearance. We walk you through each step.
- 4
Training and first session
Curriculum training and a shadow session with a site lead before you take your own room.

FAQs
What hours are these roles?
+
Most instructor roles run in the afternoon, roughly 2:00–6:00 PM on school days. Camp roles run full days during summer and school breaks. Schedules are set by site, and you tell us which days you can commit to.
Do I need a teaching credential?
+
A credential is not required for instructor roles, and it is welcome. Credentialed teachers often step into site lead positions. What every instructor completes is the same: reference checks, Live Scan and TB clearance, mandated reporter training, and our curriculum training before taking a room.
How much do these positions pay?
+
Pay is listed per session on every posting, since it varies by role, site, and program. Open a listing on the job board to see the exact rate before you apply.
What is Live Scan and how does it work?
+
Live Scan is California's fingerprint background check through the Department of Justice and FBI, required for anyone working with students. It and a current TB clearance are completed before a first session. We tell you where to go and walk you through the process during onboarding.
Can I work at more than one site?
+
Yes, and many instructors do. Tell us your availability and how far you are willing to travel, and we will build a schedule from the sites near you.
Nothing on the board fits my subject. Should I still apply?
+
Please do. We open new classes every season, and a general application tells us what you can teach so we can reach out when a match opens.
Can’t find a program that fits?
Tell us what you can teach: robotics, art, sports, music, anything. We open new classes every season and we’ll reach out when there’s a match.
