About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic Culinary Instructor to lead a fun, hands-on after-school cooking program for elementary students in Pleasant Hill. Students learn basic kitchen skills, food safety, teamwork, and creativity through age-appropriate recipes and engaging culinary activities. Responsibilities: Lead engaging hands-on cooking classes using the provided curriculum. Teach basic kitchen safety, food preparation, and cooking techniques. Prepare ingredients and materials before each class. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment. Communicate professionally with school staff. Submit brief after-class updates following each session. Schedule: Mondays, 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM. Five-week program beginning August 27.

What we’re looking for

Experience working with elementary-aged children is required. Comfortable leading hands-on cooking activities. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Maintain clear and timely communication with the program team and submit after-class reports. Must be available for the full five-week program. Applicant must reside in Pleasant Hill or within 20 miles of Pleasant Hill. Preferred: Background in culinary arts, food service, nutrition, hospitality, or education. Food Handler/ServSafe certification.
