About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and flexible Coding & Robotics Instructor to lead hands-on in-school classes, delivered across two program days. You'll engage small groups of elementary students in interactive lessons during the school day that spark curiosity, encourage collaboration and promote computational thinking. This position suits educators who thrive in energetic classroom settings and can adapt technical lessons across a range of ages and group sizes. Curriculum and lesson materials are provided. Responsibilities: Teach small-group and mixed-grade classes during regular school hours. Facilitate robotics projects with LEGO Robotics, Snap Circuits and Ozobots; coding and game design with Scratch Jr and Code.org; unplugged computer science through logic puzzles and algorithm games; and engineering challenges including sensor-based builds and simple circuits. Foster a safe, inclusive classroom. Prepare tech equipment before class and ensure proper storage and clean-up. Track attendance and provide brief class updates when requested. Schedule: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, approximately 3 hours per week. Kindergarten to 2nd grade. Start date September 18, 2026.

What we’re looking for

Experience working with children through teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, STEM programs, science museums, enrichment, mentoring, coaching or youth development is strongly preferred. Strong communication and classroom-management skills. Comfortable leading and supervising groups. Able to follow provided curriculum while adapting to student needs. Applicant must reside in San Francisco or within 20 miles. Must commit to the Fall 2026 schedule, pass a background check and complete fingerprinting/live scan. Preferred: Hands-on experience with LEGO Education, Ozobots, Sphero, Scratch or Snap Circuits.
