Hands-On Spring of STEAM at Alamo Elementary
We partnered with Alamo Elementary in San Francisco this spring to bring hands-on STEAM enrichment to students. Our Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy program connected science, technology, engineering, art, and math through practical exploration.
Working with materials and ideas
We used making and experimentation to give questions a concrete starting point. Materials, connections, and design choices offered details to examine: how something fits together, what supports a structure, or how changing one element affects the result. Creative choices belonged in the process alongside careful observation.
Giving another approach a try
Our approach made room to sketch, arrange materials, test an idea, and reconsider a detail. Comparing an initial attempt with a revised version gives purpose to trying again. Through our partnership with Alamo, we offered students ways to participate in the thinking and the hands-on work behind a project.
