About the role
We're seeking a fun, patient, and enthusiastic LEGO Robotics Instructor to lead an engaging after-school robotics program for early elementary students. This role introduces young learners to foundational STEM concepts through creative building, storytelling, and beginner-friendly robotics activities. Using LEGO robotics kits, students will explore simple engineering principles, investigate how things move, and bring their ideas to life through interactive, hands-on challenges designed for K-2 learners. Responsibilities: Lead engaging after-school LEGO robotics lessons using provided curriculum. Guide students as they build, experiment, and solve hands-on engineering challenges. Encourage creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and confidence. Maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment. Prepare and organize robotics materials before each session and assist with cleanup afterward. Communicate professionally with program staff and follow school site expectations. Ensure students remain engaged, supported, and safe throughout each class. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Aug 27 - Dec 17, 2026).
What we’re looking for
Experience working with young children (K-2 preferred). Comfortable leading structured, hands-on learning activities. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Reliable, patient, organized, and enthusiastic. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and the team. Preferred: Background in education, STEM, engineering, computer science, or youth development. Experience with LEGO robotics, maker education, coding, or other hands-on STEM programs. Familiarity with inquiry-based, project-based, or play-based learning environments.
