About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Dance Instructor to lead fun, age-appropriate after-school dance classes for elementary students in San Jose. Students will explore movement, rhythm, choreography, and musicality while developing confidence, coordination, creativity, and self-expression. The ideal instructor knows how to make dance approachable and exciting for students with different levels of experience. Responsibilities: Lead engaging and age-appropriate dance classes. Teach foundational movement, rhythm, choreography, and performance skills. Break down choreography into clear, student-friendly steps. Encourage confidence, creativity, participation, and self-expression. Adapt instruction for different skill and experience levels. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed class environment. Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators. Provide consistent communication and brief after-class session updates. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Aug 24 - Dec 18, 2026).

What we’re looking for

Experience working with elementary-aged children. Dance training, performance, choreography, or instructional experience. Comfortable leading group dance instruction. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Energetic, patient, reliable, and professional. Must maintain clear and timely communication with the program team. Ability to commit to the assigned Fall 2026 schedule. Preferred: Experience teaching dance to children or youth. Background in dance, performing arts, education, or a related field. Experience leading after-school, studio, camp, or youth programs. Ability to teach multiple beginner-friendly dance styles is a plus.
