About the role
We're looking for a knowledgeable and engaging 3D Printing Instructor to lead an after-school program for elementary students in San Jose. This program introduces students to 3D design, modeling, and printing through creative, hands-on projects. You'll guide students through the process of turning their ideas into physical objects while making technology, design, and STEAM learning approachable and exciting. Responsibilities: Teach introductory 3D design, modeling, and printing concepts. Guide students in using beginner-friendly 3D modeling software. Support students as they design and create their own projects. Oversee the safe and appropriate use of 3D printing equipment. Troubleshoot basic issues with printers, models, and files. Encourage creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving. Maintain an organized and well-managed after-school environment. Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators. Provide consistent communication and brief after-class session updates. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Aug 24 - Dec 18, 2026).
What we’re looking for
Experience working with elementary-aged children. Familiarity with 3D printing and basic 3D modeling tools. Comfortable troubleshooting basic technology issues. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Reliable, organized, accountable, and professional. Must maintain clear and timely communication with the program team. Ability to commit to the assigned Fall 2026 schedule. Preferred: Background in STEAM, engineering, digital design, technology, education, or a related field. Experience with 3D printers and beginner-friendly modeling platforms. Experience teaching technology, maker education, or project-based learning. Experience leading after-school, camp, or youth programs.
