About the role
We're looking for a motivated and engaging Robotics Instructor to lead hands-on after-school robotics classes for elementary and middle school students in San Jose. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy technology, engineering, and inspiring young learners through interactive STEM experiences. Students will build, program, test, and improve robotic creations while exploring engineering concepts and computational thinking through fun, project-based challenges. Instructors will foster creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and confidence in a supportive learning environment. Responsibilities: Lead engaging robotics lessons using provided curriculum. Introduce age-appropriate engineering, coding, and robotics concepts. Guide students as they build, program, test, and refine robotic projects. Facilitate collaborative challenges that encourage creativity and problem-solving. Create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment. Prepare robotics equipment and lesson materials before each session. Communicate professionally with school staff and follow all site procedures. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Sep 14 - Dec 14, 2026).
What we’re looking for
Experience teaching, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth programs. Comfortable facilitating hands-on robotics and STEM activities. Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, professional, and adaptable. Ability to create an engaging, student-centered learning environment. Preferred: Background in robotics, engineering, computer science, STEM, or a related field. Experience with educational robotics platforms and project-based learning. Experience leading enrichment, camp, after-school, or maker education programs.
