About the role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on STEAM Instructor to lead our STEAM Inventor's Lab, an after-school enrichment program where students explore engineering, circuitry, invention, and creative problem-solving through engaging, project-based activities. Students will become creators rather than consumers as they build prototypes, experiment with simple circuits, tackle engineering challenges, and discover how innovation happens through curiosity, testing, and iteration. This role is perfect for educators, makers, engineers, and STEAM enthusiasts who love inspiring young learners through hands-on exploration. Responsibilities: Lead engaging hands-on STEAM lessons using provided curriculum. Facilitate maker projects, engineering challenges, and introductory circuitry activities. Guide students as they design, build, test, and improve their own creations. Encourage creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation. Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment. Prepare lesson materials and activity supplies before each session. Communicate professionally with school staff and follow all site procedures. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Aug 20 - Dec 17, 2026).
What we’re looking for
Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or enrichment settings. Comfortable facilitating hands-on STEAM and maker-based learning activities. Ability to explain concepts in a fun, engaging, and accessible way. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, professional, and proactive. Preferred: Background in education, engineering, science, technology, robotics, maker education, or a related field. Experience with maker education, basic electronics, circuitry, engineering, or STEM enrichment programs. Familiarity with project-based, inquiry-based, or design-thinking instructional approaches.
