About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable After-School Ukulele Teacher to lead engaging music classes for elementary students in San Francisco. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and sharing a love of music. Students will learn the fundamentals of ukulele through fun, beginner-friendly lessons that build confidence, rhythm, coordination, and creativity in a supportive after-school environment. Responsibilities: Lead engaging beginner ukulele classes for elementary students. Teach basic chords, strumming patterns, rhythm, and simple songs. Encourage participation, confidence, and self-expression through music. Create a fun, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Adapt instruction to support students with varying musical experience. Prepare lesson materials and instruments before each class. Communicate professionally with school staff and the Digital Dreamers program team. Submit a brief after-class session report following each class. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Aug 17 - Dec 18, 2026).
What we’re looking for
Experience working with children in an educational, enrichment, camp, or youth development setting is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable teaching beginner ukulele and leading group music instruction while demonstrating strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Applicants must successfully pass a background check, complete all required onboarding and school compliance training, be authorized to work in the United States, have reliable transportation to assigned school sites in San Francisco, and be available throughout the Fall 2026 program. Clear and timely communication with the team and submission of a brief after-class report following each session are required. Preferred: Experience teaching ukulele, guitar, or other music classes to children. Background in music education, performance, or instrumental instruction. Experience leading after-school, enrichment, camp, or youth programs. Teaching credential or educational background is a plus.
