About the role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Gardening & STEAM Instructor to introduce TK-1 students to the excitement of gardening, science, and hands-on discovery. This role is perfect for educators who enjoy creating engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration through nature. Instructors will guide students through interactive lessons focused on basic gardening skills, environmental awareness, early science concepts, and age-appropriate STEAM activities in a fun, supportive classroom environment. Responsibilities: Lead engaging Gardening & STEAM lessons for TK-1 students. Teach foundational gardening skills such as planting, watering, observing plant growth, and caring for garden spaces. Integrate science, engineering, creativity, and environmental concepts into hands-on activities. Encourage curiosity, teamwork, confidence, and a love of learning. Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment. Prepare lesson materials and activity supplies before each class. Communicate professionally with school staff and the Digital Dreamers team. Submit a brief after-class session report following each class. Schedule: Fall 2026 Afterschool Program (Aug 26 - Dec 18, 2026).
What we’re looking for
Must successfully pass a background check. Must complete all required onboarding and school compliance training. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Reliable transportation to assigned school sites in San Francisco. Ability to commit to the Fall 2026 program schedule. Preferred: Teaching credential or background in education is highly preferred. Experience leading project-based learning or enrichment programs. Background in environmental education, gardening, biology, STEAM, or a related field is a plus.
