Cooking and Soccer Made a Team at Global Family School
At Global Family School in Oakland, we offered Culinary and Soccer through our spring partnership. Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy brought two different experiences to the lineup, with shared participation at the heart of both.
Preparing food together
In Culinary, we connected ingredients with the steps needed to bring a dish together. Measuring, combining components, and organizing preparation offered different ways to contribute. Sharing materials and coordinating tasks gave practical meaning to communication.
Finding your place in the game
Our Soccer approach combined ball control, passing, and positioning with the decisions involved in team play. Where to move, when to pass, and how to support another player added to the physical practice. We appreciated the variety this partnership offered, bringing focused food preparation and active play into Global Family’s spring enrichment.
